Q. Why Women's Voices. Women Vote?

State and Federal policies have a huge impact on the issues we care about, such as equal pay, healthcare, financial security and equal opportunity education. Yet, according to the U.S. Census, 46% of all voting-age women are unmarried, and 55% of all women not registered to vote are unmarried. Fifteen million unmarried women were not registered to vote in 2004, and nearly 20 million unmarried women did not cast ballots on Election Day. If unmarried women voted at the same rate as married women, over six million more voters would have gone to the polls in 2004. We need your voice and your vote so that America's agenda is your agenda.

Q. What is the mission of Women's Voices. Women Vote?

Based on U.S. Census data and groundbreaking original survey research, Women's Voices. Women Vote developed messages that resonated with unmarried women and designed a turnkey voter registration and get-out-the-vote program that can be used nationwide to increase the number of women on their own participating in American democracy.

Q. What is a 'turnkey' voter registration and get-out-the-vote program?

This is a program that contains all of the elements to locate these women and speak to them about what matters to them. The turnkey program provides a user-friendly way to find them and contact them with research-tested messaging and materials. We have developed lists in 16 states and are continuing to expand our universe. In addition, we are developing materials that will help those who want to reach women on their own. We want you to focus on programs; we will provide the resources.

Q. Does Women's Voices. Women Vote support specific candidates?

Women's Voices. Women Vote is a nonpartisan organization that seeks to mobilize all unmarried women to register to vote and to go to the polls on Election Day. We do not endorse any particular candidates. We'd rather have you make those choices instead - at the ballot box. Q. How can I get involved?
